Of the four Hawaiian islands I’ve been to, Maui is my favourite! It’s amazing that all the islands are so unique from one another, with different aspects that make them so special. Kona, the big island, has the active volcanoes and the lava fields and tunnels. Kauai is called the garden isle for a reason with it’s stunning untouched landscape and tropical plants it truly is a breath taking place. Â Oahu is home to Honolulu and the infamous Waikiki beach and is bustling with designer stores and plenty of restaurants. In my opinion, Maui is the perfect blend of beautiful, calm beaches, bamboo forests and waterfalls but with just enough vibrant shops and restaurants to keep things interesting!
One of the things I love about Hawaii (and there are many!) is the amazing food! Can someone say FISH TACOS??! When I’m in these tropical locations, I sometimes forget I’m working and act as though I’m on a mini holiday! I end up spoiling myself with things I wouldn’t necessarily indulge in at home. This morning was no exception! Banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup….not the healthiest breakfast choice…. but hey, you only live once!
I’m always looking for new and exciting things to do when I’m on layovers. I connected with one of the owners of Maui Electric Bike Rental through Instagram, and I couldn’t wait to get a Maui layover so I could give these things a try! Let me tell you, they’re amazing! They’re just like a regular bike so you can pedal regularly if you want buuuutttttttttt if you’re tired or going up a hill you can use pedal assist or you can just turn it on FULL BLAST! I, of course, being a sloth, chose the latter. Now it’s like your own little scooter!
I whipped around on it for a bit, and I couldn’t believe I didn’t know these things existed before (and secretly wished I had been smart enough to invent them!) I would HIGHLY recommend trying these bikes out. What a great way to explore the island and perfect for people at any fitness level!
No matter how many times I visit, the undeniable beauty of Hawaii still takes my breath away. Driving along the coast and taking in the stunning beaches and lava fields, it’s hard to believe this is what I do for work!
The day always ends too quickly, and before I knew it, it was time to head back to the hotel to try and squeeze in that much needed nap before the red eye home. Lucky for me, something tells me I’ll be back soon…
