Well here we are… it’s a new year and like so many other people, I’m more than happy to say goodbye to 2020. There were some good things during the year of course like getting to spend the majority of it at home with Mylo but for the most part, it was crap. I lost my job, didn’t travel for the first time in probably 20 years, missed out on so many things with family and friends. Here’s what I’m looking forward to in 2021!
Getting my job back! Who knew I would actually want to go back to work! After requalifying as a flight attendant in January after being off for a year for maternity leave, I was laid off in April. As much as I love my son, I was not cut out to be a stay at home mom and being stuck inside, in a city that has been completely shut down for months has slowly been killing my soul! Even though my job is technically work, I get so much me time! Hotel stays, dinners, watch a show uninterrupted on my iPad! Yes please!
Being able to enjoy life again! This seems broad but like I said, my city has been shut down for months and I just can’t wait to do the little things I took for granted again. Like, walking around the mall, going to visit my parents. hugging my granny. I’m hoping for some sort of normalcy in the near future for mine and Mylo’s sake!
My birthday! I’m turning the big 4 0 this year and I’m really hoping by the end of April I can have some sort of celebration! I know I shouldn’t really be excited to turn 40 but if I can can get out and do something for it, I’m going all out! I’m hoping I can go to Ireland to celebrate but that might be pushing my luck!
And what about resolutions you ask? Well, I’ve been making the same ones every year for as long as I can remember and you know what? I never succeed in doing them and feel crappy about it. So this year I’m keeping it simple and realistic. I’m going to try and eat a vegetable every once in a while. I think I’m the only vegetarian that doesn’t eat vegetables! And I don’t mean French fries or onion rings because I have those covered!
Love you lots, Kyla
