Today I’m taking all about eyelashes!!! I feel like I’ve tried a couple different things, been the guinea pig and now I’m going to share with you what I’ve learned! (I’m not an expert when it comes to any of these! These are just my experiences!)
Latisse- (also available in the generic form bimatoprost) is a prescription treatment to grow eyelashes longer, fuller and darker and it definitely works. My eyelashes grew insanely long, and I used it for a while without complications but developed some pretty serious issues with my eyes (maybe related, maybe not) and decided to stop using it. I’ve had friends have great success with this and I’ve had friends have bad reactions to this so I would caution anyone thinking of trying this to make sure you do your research first. It is a drug so make sure you are educated on the possible side effects before you start using it! 😉 (I’ve also heard good things about RapidLash which you can get without a prescription and can order here!)

Eyelash extensions- I looooovvvveeeee eyelash extensions!!! Again, make sure you do your research before seeing someone for this! If they are applied properly you should have no damage to your natural eyelashes. I’ve seen some pretty horrendous looking eyelash extensions and have heard some horror stories so please be careful. When I let my extensions fall off, my natural eyelashes are perfectly long and healthy looking (as they should be if applied correctly!) You can choose the style, curve, and length of the extensions that you like. They look great and save time and energy because a lot of people find it eliminates the need to apply makeup! They do require maintenance though, needing to be filled about every 4-6 weeks! If you’re in the Vancouver area go see my girl Cathy! She gave me the most stunning set! I asked for a more natural look and she delivered! Most people thought I just had long lashes! Check her out on Instagram @ailashco or on Facebook Ailash Co!
Mascara- Last but not least, just good old mascara. I’ll tell you a little secret… If you order from you can get up to 9 free samples with your order! Whhhhatttt??? True story… and a lot of them or decent sized baby mascaras which allows me to try different brands before committing to buying them! Lately I have been OBSESSED with Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. Honestly, it’s amazing. Looking for a drugstore alternative? L’Oreal Voluminous would be my choice!

If you guys have any questions or comments or would like more informatioabout any of these, comment below or send me an email! Would love to hear what your fave is!

  1. I am an eyelash extension addict and have been for 6 years now! I can’t live without them!!! Thanks for sharing! Love reading your posts ❌❤️

  2. First of all, I am glad I dropped by and read and learned something new. So eyelashes can be induced to grow longer. I did find it worrisome that you had issues with your eyes. Whether it is directly related or not to the product you used, I thought it would be prudent to find out specifically how it happened. It is important to check the labels for completeness and know exactly what each ingredient is before even using a product, because at the end of the day, health is never to be compromised in exchange for looks.

P.S. You look absolutely wonderful! I will be back to read more posts from you.

  3. I LOVE using mascara and I truly LOVE Sephora. It’s so sad that there isn’t an actua Sephora shop in the Netherlands anymore :(. I miss it.
I’m not a big fan of Benefit though. I prefer Urban Decay or Estee Lauder.

  4. I’ve got chinky eyes paired with short eyelashes. I’ve always dreamed of having longer lashes and on several occasions have used fake eyelashes. Probably because of my Chinese eyes, I find the long lashes uncomfortable. Instead of using fake long lashes, I sometimes use mascara. I am though wearing prescription contact lens and my eyes get irritated.

  5. Oh my gosh Kyla, you are gorgeous on that hair! I really like hair colors like the one you have but I’m not sure if I’ll have the courage to have that. I know a few friends who had eyelash extensions and they look really awesome! I haven’t tried that one though! You’re pretty! ♥

  6. First of all, you are GORGEOUS hun! Second, I’m incredibly interested in trying out some eyelash extensions. I’ve never tried one before as I feel like they could be heavy to wear, but maybe that’s just the type of brand. Isn’t it a hassle putting on? My lashes are also quite sensitive, so I’m a bit wary with testing products out.

  7. As everyone has already said her, You look absolutely stunning in these pictures 🙂
This is a quite informative and detailed post about eyelashes. Quite an interesting topic for a blog post.

  8. This is probably one of my fave topics. I am obsessed with eyelashes because mine are so short. I have never tried Latise but have wanted to I’ve been doing eyelash extensions on and off for a few years and I LOVE them. I just wish it didn’t take so long and cost so much money. Your eyelashes are beautiful though. Super jealous!!!

  9. Your lashes look gorgeous! I’m typically a MAC fan, but I’ll be sure to order a few things from sephora, those samples are so helpful for finding new products that work well!

  10. Roller lashes my FAV mascara! I haven’t tried extensions but my fav falsies are the Vegas Nay lashes. Love your hair; you’re so beautiful!

  11. I’ve been wanting to try Latisse but I get nervous and I used to get eyelash extensions for years but stopped! I need to get them again bc my lashes are a good length but never curl! Haha
