Vancouver is one of those places that you just catch yourself sometimes thinking to yourself… do I actually live here? Sometimes it’s so stunningly beautiful you can’t even believe how lucky you are! Although I’ve lived here a year and two months, I know I’ve just scratched the surface of all that Vancouver (and it’s surrounding areas!) has to offer! Case in point… Whistler!
A short hour and a half car ride away from Vancouver, Whistler is one of those places EVERYONE talks about. I kept saying but as you’ve heard before, I’m lazy. One day randomly out of the blue I ACTUALLY DECIDED TO GO! The drive itself is spectacular. You could stop a million times along the way (which I did!) There are rapids and little lakes and WATERFALLS! Everywhere you look there is astounding beauty!
I stayed at the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Whistler. This hotel is seriously a dream come true! Its set in the middle of the mountains, you can even see the chair lift from the room! The thing I liked best about this hotel though was the customer service! Being in the customer service industry myself, I can appreciate good service when I come across it! Every person I came across was so polite, kind and so attentive to detail! You definitely feel pampered here!
The pool area was awesome (yet busy!) and the mango margarita was delicious (yet expensive!) I LOVED the bar/lounge area at night, complete with live music and bar nuts! Like who doesn’t love bar nuts????

The little town of Whistler is just what I thought it would be! Cute and quaint with little shops everywhere! I had to get a picture with the Olympic Rings (obviously!) and just strolling around, the town had an amazing vibe to it.
Although the overall feel is casual, I had to dress up (like I always do!)  Luckily I found a fancy restaurant and had an amazing dinner at AraxiThe next morning I had the best breakfast at Crepe Montagne just deliciousness all around really!

I can only imagine how dreamy Whistler is in the wintertime and I can’t wait to get back there to see it in all it’s snowy magical glory!  Have any of you been???

  2. My mum and gran went to Canada just under two years ago and they raved about how beautiful it was and wow! That waterfall looks so tropical I almost thought it was Bali!!

I think you’ll need to visit Australia soon and it’s perfect timing because we’re heading into summer now!
