This is what happens when you mess with Texas y’all!
Here’s a story you’ve heard before… I’ve been neglecting my blog! Sigh… life always gets in the way but here I am!!! Did you miss me?? Let’s chat… shall we?? I actually left the house and went somewhere so I have something to write about! Dallas, Texas was the first stop!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the best things about blogging is the friendships and connections I’ve made with empowering, supportive women from around the world! I have no idea how Riane from Stello Style and I first connected but as soon as we did, we became blogger besties! I had talked about coming to Dallas to meet her but since I can never make a decision and I change my mind a million times, we kind of gave up on the idea! I don’t know how many times I texted her and said… I should come visit and she would be like DO IT and I would be like wellllll I don’t know. So when I FINALLY decided I was actually going to go, I think we both just thought yeah right… but I actually got on the plane!
Some of the highlights of my quick trip were of course shopping! (HELLOOOO Nordstrom!!) On the second night, we went to the cutest little area in Dallas called The Bishop Arts district which had guess what?? A boatload of murals! And if you’ve been following me for a while you know how obsessed I am with murals!
Two days is not nearly enough time to explore any city, and while I didn’t get to see or do as much as I would have liked to, my favourite times were the ones just chilling with Riane and her family! When I was there, they asked me what some of the stereotypes that Canadians had about Texans. Cowboy hats, gun fanatics, meat eaters, loud in your face type people… that about sums it up right?? It’s funny how stereotypes are often dramatically wrong… Now I can’t speak for all Texans but the ones I had the privilege of spending my time with were warm, kind, caring people that I’m so lucky to be able to call my friends! I already can’t wait to go back!
