My closet is full of bright, colourful pieces, but I definitely know the importance of a neutral basic! When Ricki’s asked me to pick one of their basics and show it’s versatility, I knew right away I wanted their shawl cardigan in black. I hardly ever leave the house without some sort of cardigan/blazer, and I know the importance of layering, especially when travelling! I’ll tell you why this piece is a must have for your wardrobe!

The thing I probably love the most about this piece is how it’s kind of a cardigan and a blazer in one! It’s classy, yet casual, and you can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. It’s super light weight so it’s easy to carry with you and as I said, bring while travelling. Since moving to Vancouver, I’ve grown accustomed to the changing weather and it can go from warm and sunny to cloudy and breezy pretty quickly and having a layering piece for these days is essential!

Ricki’s has beautiful workwear clothes and this cardigan is no exception. It’s dressy enough to wear to the office and definitely needed for those over air-conditioned buildings. You can easily pair it with jeans or dress pants or even over a dress! It really does look great with everything!

Another great thing about this cardigan is how easily it transitions from day to night! The fact that it looks like a blazer but is as lightweight as a cardigan makes it ideal for taking it out for a night on the town. Classy, comfortable and convenient, how can you go wrong? Which look do you guys like best? How would you wear this piece?

  1. Hi Kyla!

I love your silver hair! I had silver hair last year and your posts are really making me miss it. I went rose gold after the silver had washed out and now it has faded back to my natural color (strawberry blonde). This is a great blog post about how to style an essential basic blazer. Great outfit ideas!

    1. Thanks for stopping by babe! Grey hair is amazing but as you know high maintenance! I would love to have rose gold hair if my job would let me!

  2. Love all the combination, you look so chic and very classy. Grey is my favourite shade specially for fall. You are right about vancouver weather it doest frustrate me a bit and I get cold so easily.
    Happy Sunday gorgeous !

  3. I’m totally obsessed with sweaters and cardigans! Sadly I’m normally in 80 degree weather, so this is pretty perfect on those days I want to pretend it’s winter in SoCal lol. Love it with the business wear too!
