Though I’ve been blonde most of my adult life, I’ve never been a true ice blonde and to be honest, I didn’t even think it was possible! My hair is naturally dark brown, and though I had always dreamed of being a frozen ice princess, I had basically given up on that hope. CLEARLY, I had underestimated the talents of my UNBELIEVABLE hairdresser. Here’s what happened when a wannabe fashionista, an insanely talented hairdresser and a one of a kind superstar photographer got together!

Amber (my hairdresser) came in on her day off (because she loves me!) and didn’t book anyone else for the day, which is probably a good thing because I was there for 6.5 hours! We had to do the transformation in multiple steps to get it as blonde as possible with the least amount of damage (check out her Instagram @hairbyamberjoy to see how incredible she is!) I think after we rinsed and took the towel off we were both in shock! It was everything we had hoped to achieve and more! We couldn’t believe how WHITE it had gotten, and that I still had hair on my head after all that! We were so excited about the result, we decided to shoot some fun looks!

My beautiful friend Krista is an amazing photographer, (you can check out her Instagram @kaydeeluxephoto!) While she mostly specializes in boudoir, she can rock a fashion shoot as well! I asked her if she wanted to come by the salon and shoot some different styles with myself and Amber. She was game, so we had a mini photo shoot outside of the salon! (all these photos are unedited and credit of course goes to Krista!)

For the first look, we just left my hair straight, and I wanted to showcase something super springy in honour of the nice weather.  I styled this purple top from Primark with my amazing white skirt from Vintage Meets Boho. I added a stunning statement necklace from 16KT Beauty. I loved how feminine this look was!

Sticking with the girly, spring look, I changed into this floral dress from Express and paired it with yellow heels from Aldo and a Coach clutch. Amber styled my hair in a soft braid to go with the romantic look.

For my last outfit, we wanted to do something a little more edgy. We slicked back the sides of my hair, and I paired it with a simple tank from Abercrombie & Fitch, these super fun, sparkly pants from The Mint Julep Boutique and a cobra choker from Earrings & Stuff. I was obsessed with this funky look because it’s totally something I would never normally try!

imageAmazing things happen when creative, hard working, supportive women get together, and I’m so lucky to have both of these incredible ladies in my life. I feel like a totally different person with my new hair, which happened to coincide perfectly with my birthday! Cheers to a new look and a new year!
