I’m a mom now. My needs come second. Another thing that comes second, third, fourth and sometimes fifth these days are my looks! And while I don’t mind being an ugly haggard troll most days, it would be nice to sometimes feel somewhat put together! So when my friend Lisa of Lisa Tran Brows reached out and asked if I wanted to try microblading, I jumped at the chance! Having perfect brows every single day without effort??? Sign me up!

Was I nervous? Hell no! I was excited! I’ve seen Lisa’s work and it’s flawless, plus I totally trust her! Now I didn’t have the world’s worst brows coming in, I just didn’t have the time or energy to put in to making them nice. If you’re not familiar with microblading, it’s a tattooing technique where they use a small handheld tool to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. If you had asked me a few years ago if I would be into tattooing my face, that would have been a big HELL NO! But microblading is totally changing the game! The results are so much softer and more realistic looking than the old tattooing methods! (if done properly that is!)f

One down one to go!

Did I know much about microblading before hand? No, not really, I just knew that I wanted it! The process was fairly quick and Lisa explained every step along the way. And most importantly, did it hurt??? NO! Lisa used a numbing cream and it wasn’t unpleasant at all! We took short breaks in between where I could stretch my legs and take a pee break! My favourite was when the pigment was sitting on for 10 minutes. Don’t I look so hot? Rocking those Bert from Sesame Street brows!

When I saw my finished brows for the first time, I was so happy! They looked better and more realistic than I could have ever imagined! If you’re in the Winnipeg area, I highly recommend seeing Lisa, and make sure you check out her amazing work on instagram, Lisa Tran Brows and show her some love!

All done! Look how happy I am???

Have you had microblading? Would you do it or do you want to?
